Mr. Harvey was born and raised in Tuscaloosa County, graduating in 1982 from Brookwood High School as class salutatorian. At the University of Alabama, Mr. Harvey graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in History and English.

Mr. Harvey continued his education at the University of Alabama School of Law, graduating in 1989. He has been admitted to practice in the State of Alabama, State of Arkansas, State of Mississippi, District of Columbia, the federal district courts of Alabama and Mississippi, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Harvey began his legal career in 1987 as a law clerk for the Tuscaloosa law firm of Turner and Turner, P.C. After admittance to the Bar in 1989, he took a position with Turner and Turner, P.C., as an associate attorney where he practiced in Tuscaloosa County and surrounding counties through 1998 when he left to assist in the founding of a new firm.

In private practice, Mr. Harvey has always been involved in a general practice with an emphasis on both consumer and business insolvency law and debtors’ and creditors’ rights.  Mr. Harvey also practices in the areas of personal injury, social security, domestic relations, and workers’ compensation.  Mr. Harvey has also represented banks, finance companies, and other clients in the finance industry.

Mr. Harvey is a member of the American Bar Association, the bar associations of Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, District of Columbia, U.S. Fifth Circuit, and U.S. Eleventh Circuit.  Mr. Harvey also belongs locally to the Tuscaloosa County Bar Association and Tuscaloosa County Bankruptcy Bar.  He has had membership in the American Bankruptcy Institute and the American Bar Association.  For the years 2004-2005, Mr. Harvey was a member of the Tuscaloosa County Bar Association’s Access to Legal Service Committee. He has been admitted to the following fraternities or societies: Farrah Law Society; Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity; University of Alabama Trial Advocacy Board; and the Golden Key National Honor Society.

Mr. Harvey is the proud father of two daughters.
