Mike Coleman received his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1979 and, in 1971, his B.S. degree in marketing from the University of Alabama School of Commerce and Business Administration. He was elected to membership in Beta Gamma Sigma as an undergraduate. Mr. Coleman was admitted to the Alabama State Bar on September 28, 1979, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama in 1981. He served as an Assistant District Attorney for the Sixth Judicial Circuit from 1979 to 1981. Since then, he has been engaged in the private practice of law as well as working as in house counsel for Hawkeye Oil and Gas, Inc. and AmSouth Bank.
In addition, Mike is an adjunct instructor teaching legal studies in the Department of Economics, Finance and Legal Studies, Culverhouse School of Commerce and Business Administration, University of Alabama. He has served in this capacity since 1996.

Mike primarily practices in the areas of civil litigation, including class actions, probate administration, and oil and gas law. During his career he has been involved in numerous cases of complex litigation and has served as class counsel in several successful class actions.

Mike is married to Connie Walker Coleman, Junior Guidance Counselor at Hillcrest High School. They have two sons, Benjamin and Will, both students at the University of Alabama, and are members of First United Methodist Church.
